An Integral Part of the Orthopedic Team

In order to meet your needs and see you in a timely manner, our physicians work with physician assistants. Our physician assistants are certified and have spent a great deal of time in training with our orthopedic doctors. Because they work closely and are in regular contact with your doctor, they are truly an extension of his/her practice. Your doctor is confident in the care the physician assistant provides you. Physician assistants can assess your condition, order appropriate diagnostic testing, initiate treatment plans, manage side effects and complications of treatment, provide health education to patients and their families, and perform follow-up evaluation after treatment is initiated. In turn, you can be confident your care with a physician assistant is wholly an extension of your orthopedic surgeon’s care.
